Røssvoll Camping After we arrived in Norway yesterday at the campsite in Røssvoll, our journey through the north continues here. The next morning the sun is shining again and at 7:30 a.m. we are sitting outside having breakfast in our T-shirts. Departure The time has finally come, summer vacation is just around the corner. At least one should think so. For about a week before our planned departure, rain and storms have been announced for almost all of Scandinavia. Of course that’s bad if you live in Denmark and want to go to Sweden and Norway. Even staying at home only helps to a limited extent. So we chose a middle course and postponed our departure to the north by one day....

Departure Finally the weather is better and we have a week with two public holidays (May 1st and Day of Repentance - May 5th). Ideal conditions for a holiday with our Dumbo. This time we go back to Sweden’s west coast. Here we have a few more points that we would like to visit. We were particularly bold in choosing the Fulufjället National Park as our destination. There are said to be reindeer herds here and Sweden’s highest waterfall....

Hardangerfjord You may have noticed it in our travel vlogs. We decided to skip Bergen. Not because we couldn’t make it, but rather because it seems extraordinarily unattractive for motorhomes. Parking spaces are rare and expensive and an overnight stay is almost impossible. We’ll probably come back again by train. It’s not that difficult from Copenhagen after all. Instead, we explored the Hardangerfjord. You must have noticed in the last article that we really liked the designated Norwegian tourist routes....

Game Strynfjell In a YouTube video we found the tip to make a detour via the tourist road “Gamle Strynefjellsvegen”. This is an old connecting path between two valleys. It leads over the Strynefjell, a plateau, and has now been replaced by several tunnels for everyday journeys. The old path was laid out by hand as early as the late 1800s. But what remains is a wonderful route through a wasteland that is apparently not frequented by many....

Trollveggen Camping After our stay in Lom we drove back a bit and further in the direction of Åndalsnes. Just before we find the impressive Trollveggen campsite. Here we can place ourselves freely on a large meadow. At the reception we are pointed out, but please be careful and not damage the meadow - ok. The meadow is slightly uphill, but we assumed that it would be fine. But as soon as our Dumbo rolls off the path onto the meadow, it happens....

Departure It’s finally here, the big trip to Norway is coming up. It begins with a long evening of climbing stairs and running between our fifth floor apartment and the car. This time we will only be on the road for 3 weeks and then visit our relatives for another 2 weeks. We have a lot of luggage with us. A stroller, two and a half bikes, a backpack for the hikes, camping gear and the usual photo gear....

Departure It’s the same as always. We started preparing our short trip over Easter much too late and so we only left shortly after 11 a.m. Maundy Thursday is already a public holiday in Denmark and we actually wanted to leave the evening before. But well… Ultimately, we are better prepared for this than on our last escapades. This time the gas bottle has already been freshly filled, its function has been checked, there is 20l of water in the tank and the car is also well filled with everything else that you could need for the first two to three days....
